    Default My IPAD Install

    Hey Guys,

Havnt been here for a while but i thought i would post up some details of my IPAD install

The facia is currently under way (the photo attached is just the mock up crap one) so hopefully i will get around to finishing that fairly soon. IPAD is a 64GB 3G, hooked up via RCA and USB for power. Kiwi Wifi provides data to Dash Command and Rev. All existing radio features still work (including bluetooth etc)

Will post up some more details soon, as soon as i get some more pics.

The screen just connects to gmlan low speed cable and controls everything including hazards.

That's a pretty fancy setup. You'll have to put up a video of it all when you're done.

The IPAD is also running dash command (OBD2 software) that has a custom skin loaded to make it look identical to HSV E3 software (will try and video up soon!)

The thing in the mirror is a bit overkill, but everything else is awesome.

If you unplug the headunit it always comes up, as soon as you start the car it goes away. (Has to have engine running, not just accessories).

Yeah mate power positive, Negative and Low Bus GMLAN (there is a spare plug behind the glovebox that has all these connections) One thing to note with these units are they are VIN Locked to keep with holdens security, first car you plug it into it will burn the vin into the device and will need to be send back to US for reflashing should you want to put it in a new car. Just something to be aware of mate. If you have any other questions give me a yell

Looks very smart! However I don't know why but seems blank to me, having buttons and stuff livens it up I reckon!

All this was typed on my iPad of all things haha, hopefully you love it though mate!

The HVAC controller that is mention in the above few posts. Basically it is a touch screen GPS size device that talks to gmlan . this is what it looks like up close.

    My IPAD Install-hi002-front.jpg

Has everything on it (if you have a SS it does have climate control ) and hazard button etc. I think it looks a hell of a lot better then that microwave control looking thing was was released a few weeks back.

Have 6 Programmed into the memory and change them by steering wheel controls, only listen to 2 of them lol. I more listen to the ipad so it wasnt a big concern of mine. Just make sure the six you program in work and are good lol.
