Hey All,
Silly question I know, but I was wondering if anybody has an idea.
Holden's site says Limited Slip Diffs are optional yet I spoke to their customer assistance centre and they said "I believe it come standard" - note the word believe. I asked him again, wasn't really sure. Great.
I'm heading down to a dealer soon, hopefully they will know but I don't want them to be wrong when the car arrives without one!
Any idea?![]()
Standard on manual, Optional on Auto, $350 option when car is ordered, in the middle of pricing cars now.
It used to come standard with manuals, but I seem to remember it being canned and made an option for manuals after about MY09.5 ish. Definitely confirm it.
As i understood, option on auto and std on manuals.
I have a VE series 2 SV6 manual and it has a LSD diff. Its an option on the auto, unsure how much it cost.
yeah my ute is a manual im im pretty sure its LSD, wasnt an option.
Yo.
Thanks all, good to know they can't get their facts right :|
Will confirm with the dealer whenever I head down. Cheers.
if your car has FE2 suspension it has LSD aswell, you can check this on your build plate in the engine bay
you cant option just an LSD from factory, it comes with the suspension aswell
In saying that, assuming the manual comes stock with LSD, it also comes stock the FE2 suspension? (What's FE2 stand for + whats the difference?)
I just took delivery a month ago of my new SV6 auto.
LSD was added for $350 (RRP), no suspension changes were needed. It already has "Sports suspension" (Not sure if it's FE2 or FE3)

i have a my10 sv6 Series 1 definately standard on manual cause its what i bought
and no fe2 does not equal lsd fe2 is standard on all sports models and lsd is only in manual or option in auto ... fe3 is (i think) only available with the redline or something like that not the sv6 (unless its an optional extra)
The VE Series II brochure lists LSD as standard on SV6 manual, and optional on SV6 auto. Agrees with what those above are saying.
Wheels July 2011 mentions this also when decrying its absence on the SV6 auto.
I previously had a MY09 SV6 manual, and LSD was not standard on that vehicle, and not fitted tio mine. Its absences was noticable on road corrugations.
Well that seems to be the answer. Perfect, mines going to be manual.
Cheers all.
I ticked the box for $350 and had the LSD fitted with the FE2 suspension. I have a SV6 Auto sports wagon.
what is the code for LSD?,my build plate has GW6
The Mad Dutchman
I'm not sure I turned the stab control off and put my foot on the brake and both tyres spun, that how i checked.
Standard on my SV6 manual. According to the current brochure it is standard on SV6, SS and SS-V models.
