Default What temperature does your engine run at in Engineering mode while driving?

I drive a 2009 3 litre VE wagon for work, and when I set it into Engineering mode, the coolant temperature sits on around 82 Celcius while driving around normally, which I always thought was a bit low. I've just bought a 2006 3.6 WM Caprice, and it seems to want to sit around 95C. It's stable at that, rises slightly when stationary, drops slightly when driving, and fans come on right on 100C, which is where I think they're meant to turn on. 95C seems to me to be a bit high though.

What are other people's engines running at?

There is a dash/cluster software update for engine temp sensor reading to stop the variation in engine temp (while stationary or moving). Mine you to rise when I'd stop at the lights waiting to go but drop while cruising. Now its fixed and does not move regardless.

I have a series II VE SV6, I don't see the temps in my electronic cluster.

    Also, what is engineering mode?

This is where you can find out more information from the car's computer. Hold down the left hand scroll wheel on the steering wheel whilst turning key to "on" position.

A link is below regarding a discussion already started on "Engineering Mode"
