Sv6 rear mufflers

Hey guys.

I just took my ve sv6 rear mufflers off. Was curious on how it would sound and i gota say, dayum. Its pretty nice..

But im just worried if it would stuff up my engine? or like underneath the car? Will anything happen?

The heat shouldn't cause any problems - but I would get some tips made up if for no other reason than to stop grime and build-up forming from the exhaust exiting under the car.

But seriously. They're on there for a reason. If you want your car to sound better spend some $$ and buy a proper exhaust system. It wont do anything bad for the car. It will just make you look like a wanker when you try to show off to people.

It doesnt sound that good to be honest but ive never had an exhaust car and im going to buy a full exhaust system for it and just out of bordem i thought id take it off. but i really wasnt expecting much difference but i gota say it gave me a shock

And tinsnips, i wont be leaving it like that, ill be getting a full exhaust system or the system that kuzman has done. Like i said, i just took it off from bordem.

Changed my OPG rear mufflers to Xforce 2.25 catback system today and started the car with no mufflers and TBH it sounds horrible definitely need mufflers

Nah im buying a full exhaust system, including extractors and high flow cats but i was just curious.

I just took it for a spin and im not impressed. Its to loud inside the car and it goes silent at 3800 -4500 revs so thats abit weird :S

mufflers give the car the right note- unless of course youve got a race engine, in which case no mufflers required.
But last time I checked, people like us with V6's dont have the 'right' engine... so maybe best if you only run it with mufflers .

I did that once, it sounded fkn horrible. The drone was deafening and I was honestly embarrassed to drive the car. Only reason I had them off was so the mufflers were not hot so I could get new ones put on without waiting.

Yeah gota say the Drone is disgusting - will the drone be that noticable on 2.25 xforce exhaust system(WITH MUFFLERS)???

As far the the mufflers go Hussy....you might just have to bite the bullet and spend on some rear mufflers first and then go from there.

i have the x force system ... and pacey extractors and cats ... yes the drone is quite bad at sub 2500 rpm but after that is ok ... i would recomend doing what kuzman said ... as i understand i dont think that drones very much and is probably cheaper ... as for taking the rear mufflers off i tried it and actually debated about putting straight through pipes on the rear and loosing them altogether ... now that i did the whole system i am much happier with the way it sounds because it drones a lot less then with no mufflers... if you are around the penrith area pm me and i will bring it over and show you if you want
