Just wondering how many people have taken there new car (VE, V6) back to holden due to unusual [LH] rear tyre wear, and had the p bracket adjusted and or wheel alignment, while still under new car warrenty.??
ah P bracket ? Which left are we talking - Drivers side ?
wheel alignment under wararnty you say? sounds interesting.
what was the issue (what the hell is a p bracket) ?
and what body shape do you have?
mate has the same. found out one of the suspension bars or rear control arms were bent. 400 odd new from holden for the same weak quality one or a strenghtened one from the states for about 300 with postage. forgot the name of the part but
Well that's interesting. I'm able to see that side has more wear than the other side. Mines an '09 and has only done 12K. Is this the year involved before I go back and ask them?
When I had the suspension done they did a wheel alignment and the back left was way out of wack. Mine is brand new though.
Thanks for the replys so far to answer the guestions the Model is VE8EK69, its the passanger rear tyre and its an MY09
Both the rear tyres were wearing unevenly on my 08ss, turns out both the rear control arms were damaged when it was transported over from the east.
The dealer in Perth should have picked this up when the car was inspected before sale, but they did not.
They refused to recognise this as a problem, even after my local Holden dealer mechanic spoke with them.
I complained to Holden Australia who spoke to the Dealer but had no joy.
It was not a warranty issue so they did not want to know.
New Control Arms cost me $700 to get replaced.
Rear tyre wear is now excessive but even.

Mines in today having the rear aligned. Too much wear on near side rear compared to off side that things could be right. Local Bridgestone shop are doing it, could not be fussed with fighting GM over a few dollars. Tech. guy I spoke with claimed most were out early in their life front and rear.
