Default high flow cats worth it?

hey all, i got a 2010 SV6 SIDI, atm i have a full pacemaker system on it, just been told today that i dont have high flow cats. And they are $300 each, just want to know if they are worth it. Also my engine light is on from getting the exhaust done, it seems like idle high when i start it up and also when i give it a rev it doesnt sound right,

    cheers

The cats on the VE flow more than enough. Fitting high flows won't do anything apart from making it louder. The change in the exhaust would have affected the way the O2 sensors read, get the codes checked, you may need a tune to turn off the rear post cat sensors.

What that Ebay ad fails to mention is that 100 cpsi cats are illegal in Australia as they don't meet EPA standards. The VE has to be Euro 4 compliant, so these cats would definitely fail an emissions test. The only high flow cat that is legal is a 200 cpsi one. Magna Flow are one of the few cats that are Euro 4 compliant. I can do them for $429 each plu shipping. These are 200 cpsi Euro 4 compliant and 100 % street legal..

They use a sensor tool to read the amount of gases coming out the rear pipe..

yes you can ... i have a my 10 sidi and have had it tuned with a full exhaust system i gained 30 kw atw ... if you are in sydney you can go to castle hill exhaust ... or i think mace engineering do a mail tune that is much cheaper and apparently getting great results ... all for the sidi man ... 3.6 sidi is tuneable ... just depends where you go ...
i have been looking into this for a while and was told 12 months ago that the tune would be out in 6 months ... the tuners are just saying that to keep you interested ... the fact is the tune is already available in some places and since you got your extractors done and the engine light is on i would say it is worth it ... what happens if something really ####s up that would normally trigger your ebgine light but you dont know cause its already on

the 6.0l ss makes around 215atw and mine makes 180.2 ... plus like kuzman said a lot more torque from the 6.0 ... but it makes more than the vt series 1 clubby's and i dont know the figures on the 5.7's but i imagine power would be about the same but they would have more torque ... but for a 6 it goes hard
