    Default Spark plug change

Ok our SV6`s next service will involve changing the plugs. Can anybody recommend a brand and/or part numbers. Put NGK in our Aurion this week and think probally stick with them unless people say otherwise.

Also whats involved is changing the plugs any gaskets needed,do the upper chambers have to come right off,any hidden bolts, special tool etc.

Yes Im capable to do it myself and am doing so But its always easier if you know little tricks. I got heaps of tricks of the Toyota owners site to do the Aurion.

    Cheers
    Mick

Nothing need to change plugs other than a ratchet, correct plug socket and new plugs, nothing needs to be unbolted (heatsheilds maybe?, I'm unfamiliar with VE) its just swap and go.

Do one plug at a time so you don't mix up the leads. Check the plugs for carbon deposits, detonation etc. New car should be fine but it is always worth doing the check since they are there.

Inlet manifold needs to come off.

Then disconnect the 6 individual coil packs.

If you've got an early model VE, you may need an inlet manifold gasket as they changed to a reusable one. Not sure of the specific breakpoint where they changed.

If you need to change the inlet manifold gasket you might as well get some spacers from MACE.
