Default VE 'A' Pillar trim with Gauge holders

    Guys

I have been speaking to a guy in the states who makes 'A' pillar trim panels with gauge holders. They are currently only in LHD but he said if I could organise enough interest then he would do some in RHD

Basically, we need to achieve at least 10 people with interest and paid their money to proceed. I propose that we get all items shipped to me in Brisbane and then I will ship from there. I suspect that interstate shipping would probably cost about $15-$20 but I will work all that out.

He has told me that a shipped price is going to be roughly USD$350 and considering what JHP and SS Inductions charge for their dash pods I think this is pretty good value.

Here are some pics. These are the LHD ones abviously but the RHD ones will be exactly the same.

Price is trim only. I can source gauges for you as well but will have to add the price to the cost of trim. Cost is also for the 3 or the 2 so it doesnt change.

Trim colour is the same as standard trim colour

Too bad those pillar gauges are illegal in Australia unless they meet ADR's. Not like they don't stick out either.

Perhaps but if you fully read my post you would understand. Having gauges hanging off your a pillar is pretty obvious not to mention one of the things the police look out for.

That 5 gauge pod is horrid IMO. this was simply another option. Some like the pillar ones.

Guys, if you don't like them that's fine, I simply offered the opportunity if anybody was interested

thanks for the info Bonners, ignore the detractors, normally they are more supportive when someone goes to all the trouble you have to source something like that. they might be having a heavy day. i like the A-pillar pod, its totally old skool and was around when HT holdens were all the rage. thats probably not a cool thing to say anymore as we also thought Aunger Louvers, windscreen banners, fluffy dice and white lettered TA Radial tyres on five spoke mags were considered rad mods. we use to bolt an oil pressure guage and a volt meter to the A-pillar. some guys built enclosures for them using this stuff called fibreglass. thank heavens we have plastic injection moulding and industrial plants in china nowadays. thanks for sharing the info. its up to others to decide what is right wrong appropriate or cool.

    1. I have as many gauges as I need either in the centre stack or the cluster
    2. The "A" Pillar restricts vision enough already without making it worse!!!!

Hey guys sorry to hijack thread, but is it illegal to even have ONE gauge on the A pillar, even right down in the corner of the windscreen?
As I have seen plenty of GPS stuck on the windscreen in this position, which not only restrict even MORE vision, but would also be more inclined to blind you at night time.

No gauges on A pillar at all. GPS is supposed to be in the middle down the bottom.

AAh k. Well I'll have to be ready to 'sweet talk' the coppers as I have my oil pressure gauge mounted there.
As long as they nail me for that, though, then maybe they'll be happy with that little defect and not look at 'other stuff'... LOL

1 down low will be harder to spot but at least you know. OP's style with 2 hanging out in the breeze is pretty obvious. The silvias had the same problems when it came in for compliance they had to remove the a pillar gauge they had to meet adr's.

i like A pillar guage pods, but not on the VE.... the pillar is already thick enough, and wouldnt want to stuff around with airbag deployment anyway. plenty of other spots to mount guages in the VE.
