Default Front high? Or my imagination?

Every time I look at my car I swear the front is higher than it was before I had the Nolathane kit put in it (specifically the strut top bearings). Is it my imagination or is the front too high for the rear? Do you think that if I drop it another inch it will look stupid, broken and nose heavy? I don't want it to look as if the arse is in the air bit at the same time at the moment it looks like it's dragging the arse.

(Any replies implying that I need to drop it so it's 1 inch off the ground will be deleted cos your just being a douche.)

Edit: two more pics. First is from when the suspension was totally stock and second is lowered without bushes.

Its because the front guards are flared and higher then the rear. So in short, yes.....

If you gt a tape measure and measure the height from the ground and the bottom of the front guard and the do the same at the rear you will see exactly how much its out by.

It looks higher than before. Same thing happened to me when i had my strut top mounts replaced. It raised the front up a bit but not as much as yours.

I reckon it will look great if you lowered the front another inch.

The rear is 676mm and the front is 715mm. That's assuming my garage floor is level (and I doubt it is).

Yeah your garage floor might be out slightly, but to have a fall of 40mm+ over the length of a car is a disturbing thought and highly unlikely.

So id recommend an inch smaller in springs or even 1.5inch's.

Yep the front is clearly higher than the rear.
Do you have a kidnapped fat chick in the boot.
If so consider locking her in your garden shed for a month with and exercise bike before putting her back in the boot..
May also help to remove the 4Wheel drive springs from the front and get a slightly shorter set installed..
Nothing super low just a little bit to give the car a nice rake again, and not alert the authorities to your kinky new found perversions..

Front high no doubt at all.

Needs dropping at least 1 inch in the front.

It wont look out of place.

I'm having the same issue with mine. Not quite as severe though.
You should definitely lower the front a little.

I always thought you measure from the center of the hub?
The front does look a little higher in the 1st and 3rd photo but the 2nd photo looks spot on, which is a bit strange (maybe camera angles).

i dont get how new strut top bearings could make the front so much higher than before?

ok, i understand that the standard crap in there is there for comfort not sports handling (so therefore softer and compresses more), but that's a pretty big difference. doesnt look/sound right to me. anyone have an explanation on why the car would sit so much higher than normal? unless the aftermarket parts are a completely different size?

I think it's because the stock ones eventually press themselves flat whereas polyurathane don't.

correct, over time a oe bearing plate can compress up to 15mm, and when you put a new one in it will go up, but not an inch, i dont think its the case for you troy.

No need to worry anymore. I'm getting some Lovells SSLs in the front next Thursday. Hopefully it doesn't slam the front end too much. And also hopefully the ride isn't too much worse than it is cos the missus will kill me.

I'll post pics next week b

could always get your fronts compressed a little if the lovells end up too low?
