Difference in Ve ssv 08-10 model

Hey guys about too buy a Ve ssv ute just looking around and is there any difference between the 2010 model and the 2008 model, I have noticed 2009 onwards comes with (afm) cylinder shutdown. What exactly is afm? And is it worth getting a car with it? Any help on the topic would be great, thank you!

09 and up also get the better center gauge, gets the 3 instead of 08's 2 basic ones

AFM = Active Fuel Management. Shuts down cyls when highway cruising to save petrol

Other changes were various ECU changes (slight mapping change to the Auto for example). The manualized auto button disappeared from the console along the way somewhere too. As mentioned above the Atari dash bit above the air vents on the centre stack got a 3rd gauge along the way somewhere too.

one thing to keepp in mind is that if you are buying an afm one ... the exhaust sound shit when it shuts the cyls down ... and i am pretty sure that x force and the like dont recoment them for afm models

Pretty sure u can get it tuned and they can turn that off

It was the MY09 model yes but this was actually a 08 build. My car is a 60th Ann SSV with a build date of May 2008 and it has the three non Atari gauges.
