Looks like the mirror on my Senator. The demist thing is a bit of a wank anyway. I'd be astounded if the loom didn't support it.

They may be standard on calais etc but will they just fit in to SSV - the Calais may have different wiring so they may work on Calais but not SSV?

Well, I asked the supplier the question and their answer is:

Q: I have a series 1 VE SSV ute - no lights in mirrors - will these simply swap over and the lights work or do I need to do extra wiring etc

A: Hi, thank you for your enquiry, yes, you will need extra wiring for the light to work. There is an extra wire in the plug of these mirrors, and if your existing wiring loom doesn't have it, it will not work. I hope this helps.

So now the question is: does the standard wiring loom have the wire to connect to the mirro courtesy/puddle lights come on. Does anyone know?

So the schematics are in, only the Calais and Caprice loom is ready for plug and play...

You would need to run a wire from the BCM (Body Control Module) connector location J5-5 to each of the mirrors (I think difficult part is getting from body into door and up to mirror). I have confirmed that the BCM calibration is common between Calais and SS-V ute with regards to the J5-5 pin so the lamps should operate if you can get the wire to them.

So end of the day its possible but probably not really worth it?! Maybe worth a crack if you ever upgrade your door speakers or something. Do it while you have your door trim off.

Hope this helps. I think i will give it a miss for now!
