Hi Hexem,
Sorry to hear your having more troubles still, Is there any chance due to what you have had occur with your car that you could be entitled for another new engine
but a series 2 manual version, this would either solve the problem or show the car has potentially other issues other then directly engine related?
good luck mate
IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME.... STILL WAITING LOL
ive replaced 3 sets of lifters on L98's under warranty, but that was due to them ticking for 10 minutes after cold startups... id like to know how they inspected and cleaned the O2 sensors.... last car that came in with your symptoms left with 2 new cats and 2 new O2 sensors cos the LH bank sensor 1 failed and overfueled the engine, which melted the converter and blocked the exhaust. and by the sounds of it, your has been overfuelling because you have a rotten smell from the exhaust

overfuelling is caused by O2 sensors giving the ECM incorrect readings, the cat converters on these cars seem to be very easy to destroy unfortunately.
as far as im aware you cant clean or inspect an oxygen sensor... if its under warranty the sensor and cat gets replaced at the same time usually. id be asking for the exhaust to be inspected thoroughly before they replace anything else.
im pretty sure if the 3/4 motor has the same symptoms as before after the service fix then your entitled to a new long motor assembly...
as for the lifters ive replaced before, all cars have done over 20,000 k's now and havent had a problem, one car had to have a new oil pickup and pump fitted before i changed the lifters because the pressure at idle was lower than spec, might be something worth getting checked out first

I'd re-check cats

Sounds like poor diagnosing to me have you considered trying another dealer?
Running rich could be due to a faulting o2 sensor or the o2 sensor code could just be the o2 sensor saying hey too much fuel!!
One injecter staying open would definately cause a rich mix and rough idle as there would be too much fuel for the plug to spark therefore a constant missfire on that cylinder. if the injector itself is fine it could be an ECU issue.
