Hi all,
A minor nuisance, but I've found my drivers side and passenger side front door handles rub against the lock assembly when the handle is pulled to open the door. There is too much left-right play in the handles and the back-end of the handle binds against the lock assembly housing.
Took it to my Holden dealer to have the handles replaced.
Firstly the "new" handles were poorly fitted and there's far too much "looseness" in the handle compared to the rear passenger doors.
Secondly the dealer's painter must be an apprentice. Never seen such a god-awful attempt at colour matching - nowhere near the correct colour. And plenty of dust flecks and scratches in the finished handle.
Not sure whether to allow the Dealers to have another go, or paint the handles myself as I own a compressor and air brush. Either way the handles still bind, so painting them isn't going to fix the original fault in any case.
Has anyone else had this problem? Are the door handles easy to remove, and any ideas how to stop the left-right movement in the handle assembly?
Cheers...
Haven't had the problem but i'd take it back and demand they do it again.
