Hi all. I recently bought a V6 2006 WM Caprice. It has a fair few KM, but was in very good condition. We had a few minor problems with it when we first bought it, but with the help of this forum, we sorted them out. We recently did a drive trip from Adelaide to Mount Buller via Melbourne, then back to Adelaide. All up, we travelled 2,000 km in a week, with no problems at all. The fuel economy was brilliant - Adelaide to the other side of Melbourne, we averaged 8.3 litres per 100 km, and for the trip overall, including driving around in Melbourne, and driving up and back from Buller, we averaged 8.8 litres per 100 km. After four days of skiing, we drove straight back from Buller to Adelaide in one day - the car is so smooth and comfortable to drive.
Thought I'd post this, as a lot of posts are to do with what goes wrong with these cars, not what goes right. The VE series are pretty damn good cars!
Cheers,
I think Holden did pretty well with the VE's, sure some people don't like the shape but generally speaking, a pretty decent car.
Also from some photos and stories I've seen/heard, they are an excellent car in the unfortunate event of a crash.

thats an awesome l/km figure for the WM boatwould have been one of the most comfortable ride for the week.
thanks for the feedback.
Yep, safety and leg room was the reason we opted for a WM. I'm tall, my son grows about an inch a day (well, almost), and having two young kids in the back seat most of the time, we wanted safety for everyone in the car. The WM has all the safety boxes ticked.
