No Sound from VE series 2 stock stereo

Hi

Just wondering if anyone else has had the issue where there is no sound coming from the standard VE series 2 Infotainment System (mines the SSV with built in GPS etc), everything seems to be running, ie the radio and the CD counter goes etc, just there is no sound coming out, you can adjust the volume etc, pressed the mute button but nothing happens, and when I turned the car off and restarted it, it seems to just come good again?

Buggered if I know,

Anyone got some insight to that?

any ideas appreciated.....

There is an upgrade available for the IQ system if you haven't already had it done......could help

The exact same thing happened to me last week. I just had my SV6 serviced at the dealer for its 3000k first service. They upgraded the software in the iq system, which greatly improved the sound quality by the way.

I turned the car off and restared then all was good again. Its only happend the once so I'm keeping an eye on things. Everything thing else is ok, such as iphone pairing and sat nav etc.

Its a mystery. No point in going back to the dealer at this point as everything if working fine at present.

What was the issue with your sound quality? My car is a May 11 build and whilst the sound is ok, it certainly does not handle any decent volume or bass at all.

Do you know the software version? I might compare it to mine and get it updated of the sound improvement is worthwhile

After the upgrade (a week ago) I have a lot more bass. Overall the sound from the stereo is still pretty ordinary, but its a big improvement. I'll have to check what version software was installed

Mine is an April 11 build and I believe it still requires the upgrade

I had my 3000km service done a month ago and no mention of any upgrade being performed.

I think they just pulled the dipstick and looked for oil on it
