Red face Tune & OTR this Saturdy morning

Off to see Sonny at Marranos after a bad experience with Walkinshaw. Really looking forward to the V8 getting a unique tune as apposed to a template tune that it has already!

The OTR is made by ORSSOM so hopefully they are good?

Will report back to update after the job is done.

    Cheers

You'll be glad you went. Sonny and Murat know theur stuff.

Even for a service, that's where I go.

ORSSOM v VCN v DuSpeed...it's all personal preference of the owner and shop you use. I've got the ORSSOM and can't complain. Very happy with it. Make sure you buy a K&N filter cleaning kit from Repco or SC etc and give the filter a clean and re-oil every 5,000k's or so. Worth it too.

    Cheers

Whats the tune cost? Did they recommend the OTR or was that your choice?

    Tune and OTR $1,500.

Sonny recommended the OTR as he wait the Walkinshaw CAI is not a massive improvement over the stock box.

Hey guys. Just arrived, waiting for them to open up.

I am going the ORSSOM OTR so no radiator modification is required. Not sure about maf or mafless tune until I talk to Sonny this morning.

    Will keep you guys posted.

Ok guys here is the full report.

    226rwkw before
248rwkw after OTR and mafless tune

I'm not really into the whole kilowatt reading, for me it's about torque 512nm before, 570nm after

But more importantly it was the change in how it drives. Also Sonny re mapped the gearbox which made a hell of a lot of difference. With the tune, the power arrives lower down and just feels more available on demand.

Overall I am so happy and can't stop smiling lol.

My first Dyno runs and print out was just awesome. Sonny let be around the whole time and shoot pics and movies.

That seems to be pretty much on the money there, I had 246rwkw in the previous car with similar mods (3" exhaust and Pacemaker long extractors), your damn right though it's how it drives is the main thing.

I must admit I always laugh when you see what can only be described as clowns saying ooo I got 260rwkw+ from the mods you have listed, I'm sorry but 20kw+ difference no chance in hell. Dyno's are all about wank factor imho.

I should really pull my finger out and do something with the Clubby lol

I'm happy for you Benny. I was thinking of doing the same with this otr as there are no geometric changes to the cars components and it looks like a nice easy install and snug fit. Looks really easy to clean too. But, I was gonna go with with Walky and I may still do, I haven't fully decided yet. However that looks a bit of bugger to clean the filter.

Sorry to read about your bad experience with them too. Mine was smooth but I never had headers installed. Have fun with your upgrades.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

I was not expecting anything above 250rwkw so my expectations were on the mark.

I have been bitten by Walkinshaw Wetherill Park and will never return. How can you do a thorough tune without a dyno anyway?

    Dunno.

Are you talking about Walky's OTR without a dyno run? Becasue when I rang to get a quote I was told $1500.00 for the OTR plus tune.

Dyno figures I meant, how it drives in real life is the best test
