I purchased a similar unit from this same seller (Vlad) for my VZ Calais last year. I can tell you that it works brilliantly and exactly as described.

I recommend this product to anyone who has an iPhone, iPod, iPad and wants full functionality in their VE or even VZ (see below).

I am in WA and I had Ant (wrx884) install my iPod kit into my VZ Calais. Ant (wrx884) is also the WA contact person for full dash lighting upgrades. If you are in WA and you buy this kit, PM Ant and see if he can help you with the install.

Private Message Ant (wrx884). He installed my VZ iPod interface and should be able to do the VE unit. Obviously it will not be free of charge like the ebay listing states for Melbourne residents, but it's worth paying for installation to get this interface kit and keep the factory look and functionality

This guy is going to be a millionaire! Full iPod integration.... steering wheel controls, instrument cluster readout, full titles/song info...... FULL FULL FULL integration.

I'm getting one as soon as funds permit 100%. Great post/find OP, this is exactly what A LOT of ve owners have been looking for. Inventor is going to be rich beatch .

Why wait for a group buy to save a few small dollars? If you want it, just buy it I say. Plus, there would be no need for the designer of the product (Vlad) to discount as there is no competition, and this is quite unique and cheap for what you are getting.

The head units do vary from Omegas to Caprices.

I have just had a return email back from the designer (Vlad) and he said that the higher spec model compatibility is his next project.

It also says on his website;
"Q4: Will the interface work with all Holden VE radio models?

A4: The first version will only work with the radio models with external LCD screen. Later on I plan to redesign it for the models with colour screen radios (Calais and Statesman)."

Vlad has been selling the VZ iPod interface for years now. This is just the compatible version for the VE's. My VZ unit works a treat.

Also check out Parrot. They have an interface that while it is not seamless, gives you full iPod control. Additional parts are a small LCD screen and remote control attached to the dash. Full Bluetooth car kit etc.

Had one installed 3 months ago and fantastic. Don't have steering controls, but the control unit provided does the job. The system needs the radio to be on - as soon as it sees the iPod or phone engage it cuts the existing audio via a relay and takes over the audio line.

Benefit of this is that if you change cars it is easily removed and installed elsewhere.

I contacted Vlad months ago and he told me that he wasn't developing the VZ stuff any further so the head unit in the Caprice was not covered in the range at the time. Had to look elsewhere and the Parrot gear was the best I found.

I had this installed yesterday and it's amazing. First and foremost - Vlad is a genuinely nice guy. He was friendly and explained everything that was going to be done. He also took the time to demonstrate the functionality of the unit after it was installed.

The sound is perfect. In the past I couldn't stand to charge my iphone while it played because of all the noise. Now there is no noise at all. The controls are intuitive and convenient and having the song details display on both of the screens is just the icing on the cake.

The installation took about 2 hours, and for anyone who is holding back because of the price, when you consider that this took Vlad 2 years design and test, as well as the convenience, safety and quality of sound that his product provides, you really won't look back and regret spending the money.

On a final note, for those with Greg from ASR's pre-outs, these two mods don't interfere with one another.

I would 100% recommend to anyone who's thinking of getting this done to just go ahead and do it, you will not regret it for a second.

I've got the iphone cable that taps into the rear aux from ebay goes well but this is amazing can't wait till it comes out for ve ssv so i can maybe play movies and fim clips on my screen!
