Hey all new member to your forums... i jsut recently started looking into buying a VE i like the higher end models but cant afford the 50k Plus.
The VE SV6 seems to take my eye for the price range, are there anythings i should be looking out for. i aslso notice the 2011 models are slightly different with electronics has a different series of engine also been put in the newer models the SIDI?
You will be very impressed with the VE, its unlike any commodore that came before it.
If you are willing to go second hand, you could get an SS, with 40,000-50,000kms for less than $30k.
12 months ago I bought an '06 SSV, stock, with 50,000kms for $30k in manual. You could get a SS/SSV in auto for $25-30k. Some with low kms, some with more. There are bargains out there if you look. What budget are you working to?
I had a VZ SS before I bought my VE SV6 and I love it. Obviously not as powerful as the SS but still has plenty of punch. I was also impressed with the new IQ system which admittedly has a few issues but I'm told the upgrade fixes this. I think the Series II has a better looking front end as well.
You can buy my ute for $40k![]()

To quote Nike..."Just do it".
Love my VE SSV (plus a a few mods along the way). When compared to my daily whch is a VT SS, there's no comparison.....VE V8 every day and twice on Sunday. As others have noted, there are some good 2nd hand SS's out there. Whilst the latest SV6 pumps out more than some older V8's, the VE L98 donk is worth looking at.
Cheers
