    Default ssv ve ute

    Hi all,
I am having problems with my 2010 ve ss ute, it is breaking down at 3,500 rpm in every gear, i took it to the Holden dealer for inspection, they placed the tech 2 on it , nothing showed up ,no engine lights on and the mechanic told me that i had some water in the fuel.
I guess this is possible, and i buy my premium fuel from the same servo each week.
The ute has only done 13,000kms, k & n air filter and sports rear mufflers.

Has anyone had this problem, the ute idles well and cruises well ,but when you want rapid acceleration it breaks at the above rpm.

The holden dealer suggested that i use all the remaining fuel, refuel with some e10 and injector cleaner, if this fails the tank will have to come out and be drained.

Sounds like you have bad fuel mate. Is the ute ever jerky or rough when reving up to 3500? When it hits 3500 does it just get stuck there? Bad fuel killed my fuel pump which did this to my car a while back$

it revs to 3,500rpm rapidly, no jerks or roughness until 3,500rpm then it won't rev anymore then that and breaksdown, then change gears, take off again until up to 3500rpm again and the same problem reoccurs.

Get your fuel filter checked. It could be blocked from bad fuel if that's the problem.
