creaking drivers seat!!!

Has anyone had or having the same problem I have? When doing any corner the drivers seat creaks as my weight is shifted, its so annoying!!!!! By the way im not a fat mess either lol

I don't have the creaking drivers seat issue, but the fix is to have the base changed (under warranty). I seen a few that have had this done.

Mate yes!! And it's driving me up the farkin wall also. Had it back once already and the idiots reckoned they couldn't re create the issue so they lubed the joints or something but this has not fixed it.

I need to go back again.

mine did it and it was terrible. Took it back to holden, they re-greased something, tightened something else, and she's been sweet for 2 months now. Trust me, don't stress, easily sorted

I had this on another car, all you do is access the seat springs, and wherever there is a metal to metal join, whack some grease on it.

If you don't have grease, wd40 might work for a while.

Yep, had mine back in for this, they greased up all the seat rails and stunk my car out, worked for a liittle while but is on its way back....

I fought with this one for 2+ years. All under warranty, fortunately. They greased it all up countless times - smells horrible... replaced the base twice - then finally replaced the whole seat - now it's mint. Mine was actually the seat back creaking at the pivot points - only fix is a replacement.

Hmmm, my seat makes similar squeaks but i narrowed it down to the side bolsters,
Jiggled it abit and seems though its the material inside.

Mine is the same plus the passenger seat has a faulty release at the top - the top half of the seat flops forward atm.

Yep, i had the seat squeek problem in both Series 1 and Series 2 with the Series 2 much worse. They lubed it as per a Technical Bulliten and this did jack shit so they ordered a new seat rail set that mounts the entire seat to the car and that has fixed the problem once and for all.

I've just noticed my seat creaking heaps over the past couple weeks. I thought it was the change in weather, but kind of glad to hear other people having the same problem :P

Only had the car since easter

Same issue! i fixed it by moving the seat forward a tiny bit and it went. The stearing wheel does it however too, annoying.

Coincidentally, I was playing around with my seat this evening and noticed that the creaking disappeared!

Now, if I could just find a position Im happy with :P

Mostly at low speed - seems to dissipate the longer you drive the car - particularly bad in reverse. It's not a shudder - can't even really feel it - it's just an annoying creak. It's also not consistent. Best way to describe it is like a suss floor board.

mine was doing the same thing, it drove me nuts, holden couldnt find it so i pulled the bottom covers from under the steering wheel and had a look.
found where the coloum bolts up to the body the two closest bolts to you there is some sort of nylon insulators and the nylon was cracked and moving causing the noise.
they look to be some type of break a way triangle thing that slides in, if you have a accident and hit the wheel, the coloum moves forward a bit(not 100% sure but that was my deffinition).
i pulled them out cleaned up the remaining nylon and areldited them back in, let it dry and bolted it back up and problem has gone.
dont know if its your problem but something worth looking at.

My drivers seat is also a creaker , seems to be a pretty common prob , you would think that they would have it sorted by now-the VE is over 4 years old & the series 2 also have this prob , ah well off to the dealer we go !

Mine is actually on longer drives, and if i push up on the wheel,

May bring to holden to fix.

All round however, the car is a fkn joke for quality.
Its a shame I LOVE it, just the quality/rattles/creaking is just insane.

Ah well. Such is life.
