    Default Really tight nuts

    Hey lads,

I just had a shot at changing over my exhaust system and found that the nuts up the top end of the current system are impossibly tight.... because of the location it is hard to get much leverage on to them and short of a rattle gun i am stumped. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I'm so glad this is about your exhaust.

WD-40 applied once or twice a day for a few days to allow it to soak in and then use a breaker bar. Worst case you will sheer a bolt, but they aren't expensive and you can get replacements from any exhaust shop

you should be so lucky! even with spring washers my exhaust nuts STILL seem to vibrate themselves loose after a while

Had that issue on a suby once. Sprayed them with some kind of WD-40, or maybe it was Chemsearch Yield, took it for a 15 minute drive to warm it up and those nuts nearly fell off.

If all that fails you might be able to get a nut breaker in there. They will often strip anyway if they are rusted which exhaust ones often are.
