Default CAI On a SIDI sv6 series 2 - Does it make a difference to Fuel Economy

Hi all, toying with the idea of a CAI for the SV6, does it improve fuel consumption on the series 2 SIDI or is it bit of a marketing hype?? And i suppose any CAI system, ie. Airhammer, growler ect voids new car warranty also?

It doesnt void your new car warranty people have had some issues in the past but the more well known ones like SS inductions the dealers dont really care . You will get an improvement in fuel economy but only really on highway driving. For the first tank of fuel you wont notice much as sometimes it takes alittle time for the ecu to adapt but the tank after that you should notice an improvement . I wouldnt however put the CAI on until the First 3000k service is completed.

If your that worried about the warranty, take the safe option(not saying others DO or DONT void warranty - i have no idea) and take it to walkinshaw and get their CAI. Basically the CAI gives u better throttle response but you get less fuel economy. For a few hundred bucks, is pretty worth it, plus its healtheir for your car.

Ss inductions make the walkinshaw cai so your just wasting your money and paying extra for a sticker. Everything walkinshaw have is made by someone also and just marked up.exhausts, superchargers , cai, shifter etc etc. A good cai will give you better fuel economy and responce the reason why some seem to use more fuel is because of the extra power and sound you get up it more often.
