I have a 2010 sidi v6 caprice that burns one litre of oil every 5000 km.3 litres in 15000 well below the dip stick add mark.Holden dealers say thats normal but engine re-builders and various mechanics say the rings or bores need work. anyone else have issues with this motor or Holden not wanting to honor warranty .Any help appreciated
Mine hasn't drunk a drop in 8000km, but some here say theirs "sealed" between 15,000 and 20,000
Current Ride: 2011 VE Sedan - In Voodoo of course.
Last Ride: 2004 Subaru Liberty GT, Twin scroll turbo, tuned, Bilsteins, sway bars, no rice, 420Nm
Also Own: 1964 EH Wagon, modified interior, minor modifications outside
Yeah mine burnt a litre and a half in the first 14000 but the last 10000 it hasn't burnt any.
unfortunately mine has done 65000km and is still burning oil.and of cause GM say thats normal to burn 3litres in 15000km.meaning they arent going to fix it
Any help with getting GM to fix what is obviously a faulty motor would be appreciated
take it to another dealer and explain your problem again, cant say ive seen or heard of any alloytecs using that much oil
HI, My 2010 sidi v6 caprice with 65000km on the clock has been serviced by a holden dealer who uses magnatec oil. Would that be causing the oil consumption to be so high? 3 litres in 15000km. I am told that could be the problem, a poor quality oil in a hot running type of motor. any advice on that point
