Default Unique maloo e3 bonnet mod - interested anyone ??

I have looked into an unreal and unique modification for my maloo E3. It involves a custom moulded carbon fibre bonnet with the walkinshaw scoop. Its pretty expensive to do as a one off however if a few people are interested we can get it done a fair bit cheaper. This would be extremely unique as your bonnet will weigh next to nothing and have the completely glossed carbon fibre surface, It will look unreal and worst case there will only be 10 others in Australia. I have a black maloo but this mod would look awesome on any colour especially red/black/white.

Post if you are interested I would be keen to hear from some people interested.

Any pics to give us a better idea of what it might look like? Cost?

    Hey mate,

I can load up some pics of the bonnet in fiberglass and also some pics of the carbon fibre bonnets to suit other cars to give you an idea but as this has never been done before I obviously do not have any shots of the actual bonnet finished but the other photos will give you an idea of how awesome it looks
In regards to cost, I looked into getting this done so I would own the mould and no others would be able to make this bonnet but it was far too expensive to do on my own. Basically if I can get between 5-10 vehicles keen for this bonnet I could get the mould made a he'll of a lot cheaper. If I can get 5 guys with a verbal interest I can get accurate costing done on it. But I need guys that are pretty keen to have something like this done.
Let me know dude, I'll have the photos up as soon as I can work out how to add them, I'm not that tech savvy - hahahaha.
    Cheers for the reply

    yea man,

big difference though between a 20kg steel bonnet with a fibreglass scoop moulded on then wrapped to having a completely carbon fibre bonnet made up which needs new struts cos the factory ones are too powerful pushing up something so light.

thats the general look I'm after but want to get the real thing. I have looked into getting it wrapped or even having a fibreglass hood made up then the fibreglass scoop grafted on and getting that wrapped, but after talking to a few people and looking into the heat generated by a non standard motor ie - charged 6L, especially considering its an everyday driver im not going for the wrap, it is heaps cheaper, but imagine what it would look like after a highway drive or a few stone chips.
Also - structural integrity and overall strngth of carbon fibre is better anyway, not to mention lighter.

plus im not talking about some show pony that gets driven to shows in a trailer im talking about mods to real cars that actually get driven on our roads on a regular basis and trying to make what is an unreal mod affordable for people who love their car.

and this style of mod on a daily driver is truly unique, we are not talking about a set of wheels everyone has.

    Hakhawk,
I have ADR approval in writing.

Anyone interested to go through with this post me as from nsw/qld/act ADR requires different specs on the bonnet. On average we looking at $1300 per bonnet.

    Let's get this done.

I have a walkie bonnet on my car and I love it. But I would love to have a plain commodore bonnet in CF.

Oh and that 2 door. I believe it started life as a Maloo

It would look unreal on any colour, I have had one done on a red au xr8 and have also had a vz thunder bonnet done in silver. Both looked magic

    Cheers guys
