Question VE Omega or Berlina V6 Hold Gears and Gear Brake

Hello VE Omega and Berlina V6 owners.

Can you tell me whether your automatic gearbox will hold gears on heavy acceleration and gear brake when needed when you have powershift\sports mode activated?
I know the SV6 model has this feature and the Calais, but am not sure about the Omega's and Berlinas.

    Thank you!

no. Berlinas and standard omegas are typically just a standard automatic with no sports or manual shift. If you want tiptronic/Manual shift youd be looking at a sv6/calais

    Thanks guys!
I know the VZ Alloytec 190 motors will hold gears when in sports\power mode. Iv driven the VE SV6 and found it does the same thing. I wasnt actually referring to tiptronic itself, but the gearbox's ability to detect sporty driving and adjust the gearbox accordingly. I just wasnt sure whether in auto mode if the gearbox will hold the gear itself in the omegas and berlinas but Im assuming it doesnt.

Nevertheless, the 6th gear in the VE SV6s and Calais certainly make a difference.

While on the top of sportshift in Berlina's. I have a VE Berlina and I found that I use sportshift and then turn the car off and start it that it reverts to normal driving mode. Does anyone know if I can change some setting to ensure the car always stays in sportshift as it is really annoying?

    Thanks

I dont think its possible. As a berlina owner can you comment on my thread? Does your Berlina ever hold the gear at the same revvs after heavy acceleration and foot off?

    cheers

I don't think it does but I haven't really tried. I will give it a shot tomorrow just to confirm.

    Thanks... I appreciate it.
I think it was an 07 Omega I last drove. It didnt do it.

In my VZ Calais, its a sports gearbox and it learns my style of driving. In spirited driving it will hold the gear if I hit the accelerator hard for about 3 sec and if I take my foot off, the revs will maintain high to allow me to control the car and then shoot instantly when I accelerate again. Its a feature I love and wouldnt consider anything less
