How to change battery

Hey all just after some advice in changing over my stock VE MY10 sv6 battery to an Optima D34 battery.

My main problem is that the positive and negative polarities are around the opposite way on the optima compared to the stock battery.

The connectors seem to have a stiff piece of something running through it, which i don't want to bend in case i break something, Just wondering if anyone else has changed their battery over and how

You should be able to get a battery with the terminals on the same side and same orientation as the original.

yep....dont try and stretch the cables to make it fit, get the correct battery.
whilst looking at the engine from the front take note if the +'ve is on the left or right and whether or not its towards the front or back of the car...then get a battery to suit or just write down the model number

If you want to keep the optima which I suggest you do, is go and change your d34 for the d35 which has the terminals the other way around.
