    Default matte black ssv rims

    hey guys.

today a few friends and i got together and sprayed my rims matte black. was our first time. very happy with the results.

total cost ~ $90, hell heaper than what a shop quoted me, *from 180 each.

also, it looks abit high (ok way too high, lol. waiting for the springs to settle (stockies!)) and need to get some tyre cleaner.

    EDIT:

here we are guys, stock suspension has settled

Looks like you've pulled off a awesome job there mate. Matte black rims on a red commodore = sexual.

Definitely thinking about doing the same for mine.

holy crap that looks high.... too high.

is rolling diameter lower than normal (ie is the rim size and tyre combo you got on different from stock) ?
because I saw my car prior to lowering, and it didnt look anywhere near that high.

Not a bad effort for first time.

You can see a few "hot spots" in the paint but looks alright aside from that.

Now you just need to paint the calipers and non-braking surface areas of the rotors.

In regards to the springs, what's the situation there?

What do you mean you are waiting for the springs to settle, did you recently swap them?

They look almost like springs out of an OMEGA, so not the FE ones the SS runs stock.

I swear my omega didnt sit that high... it makes the wheels look real small.

Definitely agree with the calipers needing a paint.

Wheels look good though mate!, well done!

    thanks guys.

its really high, just drove it today and its stock height again. going to pick up king springs with monroe gt shocks soon, then the height will be perfect.

i used 120, 240 then 320 grit sand paper than used vht 121C rim paint.

as for the spots in the pic. its all fine now after i washed the whole car.

i just lowered the car of the jack and it still looks high.

the tyres are potenza 245's and i guess those are stocks?

will take a pic for you to see how it looks when its settled now.

EDIT: whoops this is supposed to be quoted to UFO
