Love it sideways!
I would love to come down with you but a sunroof in a colorado wont exactly flow if you get what I mean ;p
He will install in any car mate. A Colorado with a roof would be rare! ; )
Love it sideways!
How does the end job turn out? ie. with the contours of the roof and everything.
Looks like factory from what I've seen and the roofliner is included. The roof is also reinforced a 3 yr warranty is included.
Love it sideways!

The only sunroof brand you should be considering. There's a couple of people in the VE rides section that have sunroofs fitted, and Hollandia seems to be the sunroof of choice. Afterall, if BMW use them for pre delivery optional fit then they are probably good enough for Holden.
I'm pretty sure Hollandia are the ones who provide holden with sunroofs OEM.
I looked into one here and they do look the goods. they do have braces which maintain the roofline ridigity (holden will tell you that you compromise the structural ridigity of the car if you get an aftermarket sunroof).
Never argue with idiots. They will only bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
I'm keen....
Who's doing the install? Feel free to PM me. When are you looking at doing this? Brand?
Yep, apparently proper bracing is VERY important. If the sensors detect even a small amount of movement, there's a risk that the airbags could deploy... costing thousands of dollars to repair. And if the fault is because of dodgy aftermarket sunroof, your insurance company will politely tell you to f off!
I dont know the brand or the installer the OP is offering (so I cant offer an opinion on this particular offer), but all I can say is that you need to be very careful with this particular mod folks. Stick with reputable brands and reputable installers.
In most Commodore models, the sunroof is fitted aftermarket. The roof is not stamped for the glass at the factory, and the dealer who receives it sends it to a third party installer (Prestige or Sunroof City or the like) who install it. So technically, 95% of Holden roofs are aftermarket fitted.
Having said that, Holden use Webasto (used to be Hollandia) 700 series, which is predominantly what the installers use anyway. But as UFO said, stick with well known brands and a well reputed installer.

The VZ is here! About time!
This guy paid $1500 - can we get it cheaper than $1800?

Why won't they do VE utes?
HI Everyone,
Thought I'd post this tid bit from an enquiry from the same place as old mate had his done for $1500ish...
"Hi Cunning thank you for your inquiry , the only sunroof that will fit the Holden VE ute is the Hollandia 300 series same as on our website .
No other model will fit because of restricted room inside the ute , I will also point out that to fit the 300 series we have to remove the sunglass holder section of you interior front light . You still will have your light but no sunglass holder we modify the unit to accomodate the sunroof .
Price supplied and fitted here in Brisbane would be $1500 includes GST same day fitting 3 year warranty".
So if I can get the Hollandia brand which everyone seems to recomend the most then this seems to be the go. I posted a similar Q on another forum and a reputable workshop had used Doyles for a long time and were happy with em so I'm kinda in 2 minds.....would also need to find a fitter in Syd who does it for same price as the Bris shop, not sure if they're doin the same deals elsewhere....
