Title says it, what you think of putting 20" wheels on V6?
Highly appreciating your feedback if you have done it, how was it on performance, fuel consumption, handling, and ride comfort?
Thanks
The question should be why not? I cant see any reason why not to. I have a set of 20s on my SV6
Does your insurance allow it?
No Replacement for Displacement
20" will be fine on a VE but the only thing I would suggest is you get a good quality wheel as when you start putting low profile tyres on the wheel will take a beating with bumps and pot holes and you will notice how quick a cheap wheel will bend and deform.
Should be fine as long as the rolling diameter hasn't changed.

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
I have 20's... love them.
Straight line performance and fuel consumption wont change.... rolling diameter stays the same if you put correct tyres on. Lower profile tyres on larger rims negate any differences from stock wheels.
Handling goes up due to increased tyre contact with the road from the wider wheels and firmer side wall, but so does replacement cost.... 20" low profile tyres are much more expensive than stock tyres.
Ride comfort is perfectly acceptable. I wouldnt go any bigger in wheel choice, but 20" is fine. I have 20" AND lowered, and I find the ride quality fine (and I cart the family around in it every day).
But biggest benefit is looks.... 20" just looks 'right' on a VE. Everything else looks too small, and anything bigger looks silly (imo).
I agree with everything UFO said.
What tyre size do you currently have?
Thank you guys for your inputs, this or that.
Yes I do have VE (V6) -though chevy badged, slighly modded (CAI-Exhaust-tune-lowered..)
Currently rolling on 19s with 255/40-19 at 4 corners, and it still looks small.
Looking at a GTS style wheel (repro - weighs 30lb) in 20x8.5 with 255/35-20.

I see no reason not to have 20s on your car mate!

For suspension, already have springs, lowered sport shocks, and putting sways in a week.
The amount of money that would go (exhange) is same for doing pro-paint job of my currents, so it's not cost that worries me.
(Tire's I'm already after set of the new Pilot supersports, this size or that)
now that ive seen a picture of the car, i'd be inclined to leave the 19's.
dark rims on a dark car 'disappear', so you wont notice the lower profile (unless you put white wall tyres on).
as already suggested, spend the money on other parts... unless of course you are thinking of changing rims colour, in which case my original vote still stands- get 20's.
special thanks to UFO for family thing feedback, as that's one side of my equation
if going 20 that'd be silver (might darken them is future)
I don't see the point in going from 19" to 20". Can still fit bigger brakes under the 19" wheels which you couldn't under 18" rims. Why not just throw some drey wheels on it...before long we'll banging ferris wheels on them and light planes will be getting stuck in them![]()

i couldnt be bothered reading the rest ... but yes to 20's ... just dont go to low and 275's they scrub like a bitch ... didnt notice any change in performance or any noticible change in handling ... comfort was mildly decreased ... but not anything really dramatic
2010 SIDI sv6 ... 180atw ... more to come
