haha yeah mate, there is a second, "very low fuel" warning that comes up. Have been worried about this before, but you'll know when you definitely need to go to a petrol station.
yes there is a second warning
but with me i never let it get to the first ive always got 1 bar of petrol minimum when i drive into a petrol station and fill up
only time i let it get to the second warning i was outside a petrol station and i did it on purpose and put injector cleaner and filled it up to the top bcoz i had gas as well but i just dont hhear that warning for years
even with my new car i dont let and its just petrol

ive been worried a couples of times also but then i just check the engineer mode to see the amount of fuel left in the take and the worry goes away.
You have about 200m left when the following happens:
Stereo turns off, engine throttles to ~2000RPM and 40km/hr.
100m when power steering disables.
Man that night sucked!!
Yeah it's really disappointing that the computer is not accurate. My wife's 5 year old VW Jetta gives a reading to the last 5Km to go! Why can't my new Holden? I left some feedback on their facebook site and hopefully someone will listen!![]()
I find the "low fuel" warning is like the "low battery" warning on an iPod... there's still heaps to go in the tank. But when it gets to that 2nd warning, best have a servo in sight, coz the 3rd warning is indicated by the speedo dropping to "0".

The accuracy of the computer is only a general guide. If you're too stupid to look at the fuel gauge and say "Oh, my car is nearly empty. I should fill up" then a computer that doesnt work out your exact KM/Empty is the least of your worries.

I think its very car dependant, every VE seems to operate slightly different in relation to fuel gauge, trip meter fuel usage, 'low fuel' warning and 'very low fuel' warning.
My 07 VE Calais V only ever shows the 1st low fuel warning at ~10L to go and I drive it regularly till the trip shows +73L used with the needle on the last line (E) and the at refill I can only ever get between 72-73L back in it but never get the 'very low fuel' warning but never ran out of fuel fingers crossed.
On the other hand my mates 08 VE Calais V gets both warnings and his trip shows just over 70L used at the "very low fuel' warning and never get more than 70L back in at refill.
Strange but after having the local dealer attempt to fix my VZ calais fuel guage and trip meter which resulted in me running out of fuel with over 1/4 tank still showing on the guage I am happy to leave it as it is,
today i tried on my vy , as how many kms it does before it dies after second warning, and after the secon warning i drove 65kms and the car was still running but i was tired waiting it to die , so i refilled it up.
I was hoping for the car to die soon as the distance to empty was shown 0kms but it kept on gooing and my fuel guage was recalibrated by holden a month ago
