Default Spark Plugs for VE V8 6.0L

    Guys

Was going to change the plugs. Please don't ask why etc

I'm simply wanting to know the correct plug to use.

A suggestion was made to me to use NGK tr6 plugs. Now thats fine. But I'm confused by the numbers.

I found this ebay listing for some tr6 plugs
New NGK TR6ix Iridium spark plugs LS1 Camaro Vette | eBay

    but then found this listing
New NGK TR55ix Iridium Spark plugs LS1 Camaro Vette | eBay

The first one states for lightly modified to heavily modified while the second listing states for stock to slightly modified. Is this the simple difference between these two NGK plugs. Therefore the plugs I need to buy are TR6ix? Is the ix simply an 'iridium' designation.....

Sorry if these are noob questions....

So I take it you're saying that because of cost?

Do I still use tr6 though? Because when I did the vehicle search on the NGK website it wasn't TR6 that it recommended.

Nothing to do with cost just there are no gains to be had. I came up with IZTR5B11 ?

I use tr6 and gap them to 1.5mm.
Personally i wouldn't waste your money on expensive plugs. These cost me $27 for the 8 and i'll just change them out every 12 months at that cost.

Yeah thats what I intended. But I don't get the numbers. I know these are iridium but it says these are TR5IX. I was told TR6.

I dont understand. The car came with Platinum tipped plugs so why not replace them with the same.
They might be a bit pricey, but they last 100,000km or more. And you dont have to change them every year or so.
IMO its much easier to put Platinum tipped in the car. Put them in and forget about them for years.
I think I paid $90 for a set of bosch 4-Poster Platinum plugs of ebay. Will last me until I need to sell the car in 3-4 years.
Copper is fine and probably does the same job, but why make life harder by changing them every year.

I changed all mine with the bosch 4 prong ones with the 100,000 life too, reason i did that is that there a pain in the arse to change with the big headers

I was told not to bother with the iridums. Mainly because of price. Dus told me to get some ones from the states or simply use standard NGK's.
