Jesus! No way!
This would be WAY better: 2008 HSV CLUBSPORT R8 E Series MY09 Private Cars For Sale in VIC - carsales.com.au
His description states: "PLEASE DONT ASK ME STUPID QUESTIONS AS TO WHY IT IS A STAT WRITEOFF"
I don't think that's a stupid question for someone willing to part with $75k for a toy.
He also states that it was just damaged on the right hand rear door.... well that wouldn't be a write off for a $150,000+ car....
So how much insurance did he get, and what did he pay to keep the car???
So what he's got there is a $75,000 paper weight. Nice...

I was thinking it would be great for a body swap.

Rip it all out put it into an omega oh yeah.

wondering if this car was on the train derailment that was shown on the ls1 forums
The Mad Dutchman
i know this is a sarcastic comment, but to anyone even remotely thinking this is a good idea.... $75k buys you A LOT of serious mods to an Omega that would be far superior to the parts you could swap from this donor car. Hell, if you've got $75k sitting around sell the Omega and buy a better base to start with for starters.

Interesting there are no pics of before it was repaired in the add. I thought I might post this one up:
From what I understand GMH have categorically stated this car cannot be repaired (the insurer pushed very hard to fix it as you would expect) so I don't quite understand how the seller can claim to have fixed it to Holden standards. There was considerable damage to both the floor and roof not apparent in the photo.
Check out here: http://www.arro.org.au/_dbase_upl/iR...en_24Jul10.pdf and think thru where the forces of that impact would have ended up. Not so hard to understand why it was written off. The VE is actually *very* strong and performs exceptionally well in a crash but the likelihood of it being binned after a crash is much higher too.

According to a Street Commodores thread from about 6 months ago, it sold at auction for $40,000 (damaged). Can't see them having repaired that for less than $35k, so they're surely looking at a loss on it.
Apparently it was t-boned by a 1984 Mitsubishi Nimbus (who ran a red light), and the original owner bought another white one (one of the last two available, and it was a 5000k demo).
Woah......
