after many different examinations of my car and being told theres nothing wrong just general wear n tear etc was starting to think it was just me,good news is there is stuff wrong plenty infact so im not hearing things...bad news is wallet in for another thumping.

front end

needs all new bushes basically
2 new rear lower control arms
front new strutes
front srtute top plates

rear end
new shocks new springs
complete new sub frame as old one is full of stress cracks ,which was deemed as one of the main noises i was concerned about
drive shaft centre bearing completely stuffed and needs replacing

parts and labours $4480
going in on monday for centre bearing and front end and getting back end sorted out fortnights time
should feel a huge improvement in general misc noises from underneith and handling

Did they really say that EVERYTHING needs replacing in a 2008 commodore? (Assuming that's the car you're talking about because you didn't specify)

Umm... what exactly was the noise you were hearing??

Because I'm pretty sure Pedders have simply opened a VE suspension parts catalogue and transfered it's entire contents to your report.

Lucky your already a boi coz there is one other crack that will be feeling plenty of stress if you believe all that crap . Sounds to me that they have nfi what is wrong so they have decided to replace **everything**.

no its a 2007 vess-v my original car was 2009 i down graded and bought a lemon thats been flogged within an inch of its life by the sounds,as as for the back sub frame they reckon the way the rear control arms are and the way the bolts have been pulled an twisted its been reversed into something, certainly wasnt what i wanted to hear...its like a squeaking or grinding of metal on metal slowing down speeding up taking off from stand still.. strute bearings collapsed,springs not seating right and general play in all the bushes tells me its been hammered by its previous owner,tailshaft centre bearing causing knocking between gears

I've been seriously thinking about getting a Pedders $15 BULL check just for laughs. My suspension is pretty far from stock and I'd love to see what they would try and flog off to me.

im all out of options for the brisbane area to take it,i really dont trust anyone one these days been to brendale p/t they deal only in engines ,driveline specialists a few random machanics,i agree with what posts are saying machanics and so called specialists seem to have a policy where they just guess and replace until they strike it lucky ,just had diff and engine mounts replaced because a drive line specialist said that those were making the knocks i was hearing, soon they'l run out of things to replace lol

I had all brand new suspension in my vn,, fitted a week earlier, took it to ******* for a simple wheel alignment only to pick the car up with a report saying that the shocks are failing an the springs have sagged, I was like sooo did you do the wheel alignment, To witch they said no so i went to leave an they wanted to charge me for having the car on the hoist.

Told em to stick it, wouldn't give me my key back so i walked out an used my spare key started car an drove away.

Wasn't a silver one was it??? My first one was about that old. Feel sorry for whoever ended up with that car . Never smashed it though.

I will never go to Pedders again. Ever!
I won't labour by describing the shonky "No Bull" check they did without my authorisation and how they told me "oh your suspension is worn and needs this and that" after the bushes/rubbers were replaced front and rear by me a week prior to going there. I only asked for a wheel alignment!
Neil Crompton can get stuffed for advertising that mob of crooks and saying "Trust Pedders". Grrrrr

Perhaps go to a reputable suspension specialist (ie not Pedders) if you want your money spent knowing you are getting what you need for a reasonable price.

I have to agree with everyone else. Pedders is not the messiah, in fact they are very naughty boys - according to A Current Affair. They have been busted in the past and if you type Pedders Suspension and A Current Affair into Goggle, you may have a better idea of where your $4,480 worth of labour and parts will be getting you. yeah cheers ,didnt realise they had such a bad rap,most of my problem solving decisions are based off info ive researched off this site,will definately take it elsewhere for a 2nd opinion ,bad news is it has been thrashed so i think im gunna be out of pocket at the end of the day anyway but hopefully on things it actually needs :-)
