Default How to change the pollen filter?

    Hi,

I would like to change the pollen filter on my VE Berlina and I am not where it is located and would appreciate any advice. Also what are the steps required to change the pollen filter?

    Thanks,

Lift up the passenger side plenum chamber (7 or so scrivets) then just pull it out

If it's anything like Subaru, they wanted $75 for a paper filter that would probably cost about 50c to make.... it that. Paper element, thin flexible plastic frame. Then you have to fit it yourself.
I suffer from hayfever every now and again, but I'd rather just pop a pill than give away that much money for nothing.

Edited: Just googled and came up with this result from this very forum discussing fitting instructions.... Cabin Filter

$35 for a Repco one.... now that's a little more reasonable!

Thanks Troy. Just to confirm did you also need to put back the leaf filter/mesh after replacing the pollen filter?

VEs dont have pollen filters unless optioned, just a leaf filter and yes they replace the leaf filter so you can throw it away.

No you cant wash them it greatly reduces the filtering ability if it even survives the wash.

Hey Ricey, do the VY's have these? I've read about VT or something but I can't work out how and where it is on the VY.

I went the cheap option and bought a $20 filter from autopro, and it really didn't fit well at all. Was about 5mm too big at a guess. However, it beats paying $90 bucks on top of my service for Holden to do a routine job for then, that would likely take 10 minutes.

i did notice the ryco one didn't fit to well and had to be stuffed in rather than slide in easy.
