VE HSV E3 IQ System

Just wondering if it is possible to put that new IQ system from the E3 HSVs into a E2 HSV??

Any info would be great!!

Unfortunately the only info is NO.

Anything's possible if you have the inclination and the money to get it done. They're all VEs, so technically I'd imagine it is possible, but very very expensive. For starters you'd need a new dashboard and centre console as bonners said, most likely in addition to a new wiring loom. And if you're doing it yourself, the car would probably be off the road for a while while you figure out how to do it, and then do it. It would be a big, big job.

If you had neither and were going to buy a E2 and trying to get the E3 stuff to work, I would simply save a little bit more and buy an E3. I would bet that would be easier and better and more cost effective than trying to put E3 stuff in the E2. The E3 dash and centre console etc is completely different to the E1/E2

One of those things that is just cheaper and easier to sell your current E2 and buy a E3. The E3 IQ system is a huge leap forward compared to previous models.

The IQ system is wicked... but if its just the screen your putting in how would u need to change the dash? or is it bigger etc??

And here's one of a VE Series II with the iQ system:



As you can see there is quite a bit that needs to be changed...I'd imagine there's also some stuff that would need to be changed behind the dash (such as the wiring) as well. Either way you would be much, much better off just saving the extra $$$ and getting an E3.
