VE Omega slams into second gear, mechanical fault?

Im no genius in the mechanical field (more into electronics). Anyway I drive a VE Omega (Auto V6). When I take of slowly it occasionally absolutely slams into the second gear. Every other gear change is fine. When I take of fast it changes into second fine. I'd like to proactively repair this and so I ask for a rough idea what it could be?. Lets say its the transmission whats required to fix it? $?
