I went to my local exhaust shop today and the guy told me tht i would get a nice deep rumble sound on my ve ute sv6 if i just put mufflers in with ss tips. Any comments on what this wud sound like pls let me know.
the SS and SV6/calais exhaust is the same up till the rear section with the change in mufflers. The Stock exhaust will flow well enough for a v8 so its fine for a v6, therefore there is no point in adding a full catback system. I dont think adding ss mufflers will make much difference, but maybe adding straight through pipes instead of mufflers or maybe just hotdogs or something.
like a v8?or tht burbling sound wen u slow dwn?
i think there is a part of the tune to stop excess fuel when slowing down, so im not sure on the burble. But i have heard a vz sv6 with extractors, twin high flow metal cats and twin 2 1/4 inch exhaust with now rear mufflers. It sounded like a ducati, but did burble
ok well i mite jus put the mufflers on nd new tips nd see wat happens i guess hoping for a gud reslut.thnkas for ur help
if you dont mind me asking, what price is he charging you for the twin tip mufflers?

thats my car with pacies hiflow cats and hiflow rears.
i can hardly hear it lol
i wanted it very quiet VEs get horrid drone because of the plastic boot floor. in 6th on the highway it's very good it's even quieter now that i have removed the 2inch section and replaced with a 2.25inch merge.
ill have to look into that, CHE charge about $400 for that pipe dont they? I wonder what my local boys would charge. Is their any drone on yours? is it any louder? I basically want it to sound stock, but with a little better flow
When I changed the exhaust on my SSV i put the rear mufflers on my dads SV6.
It makes a little bit of difference, but not heaps. If you want noise you will have to get a different system.
If you can get your hands on a cheap set then throwing them on can't hurt and at least they will be twin tipped.
CHE charged me 300 fitted for those mufflers.
Anyone want the mufflers from my VE Clubsport? I'll sell em cheap. Hell, I'll sell the whole cat back system!
Just remembered I had it all sitting in the garage.
Me Me Me, kick em to me
just to be honest with you mate ... please don't do it
you will just make a good laugh about your car !
it's a V6 You Love It, you don't need the sound, it wouldn't even sound good
just wait until you have the money to modify it ( Turbos ... )
then the BOV sound will just sound So cool !
just an opinion, feel free to tell me to **** off![]()
Really really ... Fighting Temptations
id get a diff exhaust system if you want more sound
this one sounds ok for a V6

Never argue with idiots. They will only bring you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
why would putting twin tips on my car make it a good laugh? The single pipe on each side makes the exhaust look like an after though because all you can see are the mufflers lol.
I dont actually want an exhaust thats going to make my car loud, infact i want it to sound stock. As for the turbo etc, im not a big fan of forced induction. So mods for me will include a stroker kit (once they make one) shaved heads, ported valves, bored out 80thou, under sided bearings, full balanced and modified fireing order, massive cams etc .lol
for me its the pride, perfection, discipline and leaning experience that makes my car. If i bought a blown ls2 it would be faster, but what have i achieved?
for me a better car would be a '67 mustang fast back, silver with blue GT stripes
cant now, just got a ve. lol
That will be the next impulse buy
A mate of mine had a VZ SV6 and the exhaust system on that sounded awesome, he also said it had picked up in the low to mid range too. He had advanced headers, into twin 2 inch with standard cats (may benefit more from hi flows) into single 2.5inch nagnaflow muffler and hotdog style resonator. All stainless steel.
