Default VE ute in FULL Vinyl Wrap!! Have you seen this? What do you think??

    Hi all,

I've been looking into partially vinyl wrapping my white SV6 ute. I was thinking of doing the bonnet, roof and lower centre part of the front spoiler in either Carbon Fibre or Matte Black. I found these photos of a VE ute completely covered!! What are your thoughts on the vinyl wrap?
Please post photos if you have done this to your car/ute.

    Cheers, Matt

Yeah that's where I first thought of the idea. I couldn't justify paying 200 and something dollars for a lip kit and was looking for alternatives. I have a mate with a Lexus that he has done a heap of Carbon Fibre "Highlights" throughout his car. It looks great!! Just not sure about matte black or carbon fibre for the entire bonnet and roof?

Love it. Good luck maintaining it though.

Edit. MetalPledge was looking at doing this to his SV6 - not sure on the progress thus far though.

Matte finishes show up EVERYTHING and there's FA you can do about it. The vinyl will be more forgiving than matte paint, but still not for me. Nice too look at - horrible to live with.

How well does the vinyl adhesive hold up in summer heat? I can just imagine sheets of the stuff peeling off at the edges of every panel on a really hot day.

I think it would look ok with some parts of the car done, but not the whole car. If it was me, i'd probably steer clear of it

Don't see too many company cars completely covered in vinyl. Signs are one thing - complete cars are another matter altogether.

awefully expensive from what I've read, a guy with a 350z had his car covered and cost him around 3k. And it'll probs only last 5 years. Still looks alright though.

3K for 5 years. I am sure that a good paint job would be better value in the long run.

I saw a ute on the Week-End near Cronulla Sydney that would be the mirror image of this stealth matt black ute. Looked like a movie prop...

Why you would do this on a street car is beyond me!
