    Default ve ss engine removal?

Has anyone taken their engine out of their ve ss themselves? How hard is it and how long did it take you?

Remove exhaust and tailshaft, disconnect everything from engine and gearbox and put axle stands under the subframe and gearbox them remove the 6 subfame bolts and gearbox crossmember and raise the car leaving engine and gearbox behind.

This only works if you have a hoist haha

Ive done it in less than 4 hours.

haha practise makes perfect. You could probably lift it out the top with a engine crane...

Ive always dropped them out the bottom so not sure about the rad support. It is plastic so Id assume it would simply unbolt..

Just gotta be careful not to flex the engine mounts when your lifting the engine out, the bulkheads on the ve's are quite large so would be interesting too see if the motor wil come up high enough without hitting anything

Apparently down at Lang Lang, they've taken to removing them from the top. But we always bring them out the bottom aswell.
