No point...
No point, really, my mate did his, and found the honey comb kept crumbling inside, and was only pulling 320kw then he gut it all out now has 350

In fact, your more likely to go backwards....

except it's a $10,000 fine if caught, it's poisonous to other road users and for the cost of a few 100CPSI cats it really ain't worth it.
Kuzman's Supercharged SV6 - MACE TUNED
Full of shit lol I have the dyno sheets and pics of the cats to prove it! They were pretty bad!!

Price of new high flow cats: Few hundred
Price of fine running gutted cats: Few thousand.
Above answers stand: No point.
Are you cats stuffed?
Yes - Replace them
No - Leave them alone
1. Can I ask what you mates car is to have 350rwkw?
2. Depending on the dyno and operator, a difference of 30rwkw can be achieved. So dyno print outs prove nothing.
Before and afters at the strip would prove something though.
Your car and your mates car only makes 224rwkw stock. So if he said hes getting 320rwkw he must have some work done to it and thats massive $$$..
I cant see anyone spending all that money doing work to a car to gain and extra 100+ rwkw and then bashing out his cat with a broom stick and then it miraculously gaining and extra 30rwkw...lol
Yeah fair enough then, rather not the hassle of that lol!!
Already got 100cpsi cats!!

Only when the cats are breaking up anyway.
A perfectly fine and functioning cat won't affect the output very much at all.
Iv got 330 rwkw lol

In your first post you asked if anyone's done it. Now you say your mates done it and gained 10% power increase? Doesn't make much sense champ.
Id have to agree with what others have said. From what I understand it would sound crap, no power gain (or even losing power), and highly illegal. Not ideal for a road car
Coz his done it on a bf xr6 turbo not a Holden

As previously stated... dyno sheets are not the most reliable measure. For example, put the same car on a mainline and a dynamics dyno you can expect a 10rwkw difference. The dynamics being teh happier of the two.
Just saying.
Anyway, off topic.
Gut cats = bad and silly in your case as you already have high flow.![]()
All I wanted was a simple answer but it seems to hard for ppl on this forum

We did it in a VY HSV just before a cat change to see the change in power between the two (stock and gutted).. Gutted cats lost 4RWKW
Thank you vkcommo
That's all I was after!
