hey guys
ive just bought a set of VE SS leather seats that i am going to install into my VE omega.
the SS seats however have air bags whereas my old omega ones do not. is this an issue?
any advice for removal would be much appreciated as well..thanks in advance guys
Brent
I'd be very surprised if your '07 Omega does not have seat side airbags.
That's amazing even my VT had side airbags ?

Hi there,
if your car seats have side air bags, there is a small tag sewn into the seam with air bag written on it....If no tag showing, then either it has been removed or has no air bag installed.
Whilst on this subject, I want to fit lambswool seat covers to my front seats, but find out that special covers are needed with a special stitch and exit point to allow the air bag to deploy in the event of a side impact!
Where do I find such an item?
cheers
Peter
If you are busy doing nothing, how do you know when you are finished?
yh it definitely doesn't have have airbags...but the new ones do
best place to get those covers is eBay mate!
You will be able to install the seats. do you know if your Omega has side airbags...they surely would plug into that same ECU if not they just wont work?

my omega doesn't have side airbags!
So wiring them up will be ok?
yeh mate it will plug straight in no drama's.
Yeah biggest problem you may face if you choose not to wire them up and have them functional is for a roadworthy... usually if they are fitted they have to work etc

if the exicsting seats have no airbags there wont be a problem ... even going for a road worthy certificate (which if its 07 you dont have to do in nsw not sure about other states) ... they cant defect your car for an airbag not being connected in a seat inside a car that didnt have them anyway
2010 SIDI sv6 ... 180atw ... more to come
I was told the last digit on the airbag computer was the amount of airbags in the system, Mine ended with 3 - Drivers, Side and Seat Pretensioner. Not sure if this helps.
