SS Series II Grille

Hi,
A question. I'm looking at modifying the grille on my ss. I need someone to give me some info on these Chev grilles that you can buy. If you remove the Chev badge and chrome strip, what is behind? Is it the egg crate pattern, or a black strip to which the Chev bits attach?

If you take the badge and chrome strip off it doesnt have the honeycomb.....its shitty black plastic with holes in it for the chrome stip to clip into. I have a series 2 Chev grille if you wanna buy it. I bought a holden one from a website and they sent me a chev one hahaha. Havent used it as i decided to just make a custom grille...

Search around i found ssv badge with dome egg crate pattern looks original instead of simple chev badge
