2008 VE SS Ute (Not an SSV)
Hi All,
I have an issue where everytime I start my car, the A/C works normally and can be adjusted etc, then after 30 seconds the vent setting automatically changes to screen, fan goes to low setting and all the A/C buttons are non-responsive.
If i restart the car, the same sequence of events is repeated.
Also possibly of note, occassionaly (approx ever 200 or 300th start) the entire centre dash console is dead (i.e. no radio, display, A/C) and I have to restart the car to get it working again.
Any help appreciated.
My dash has gone blank a couple of times over a year or so, I remember some saying it was a couple of hundred dollars to get it fixed something to do with the head unit display controller.

Yes I know, if you get anymore manly you are in danger of making yourself pregnant!
i remember reading about this drama on ls1.com. i'd check with dealer as from memory there is a techline for it as in a software fix
im out of my mind at the moment...please leave a message
Had this happen to mine, oddly caused the seat being replaced (coincidence obviously - reconnecting the battery caused the HVAC module to crap itself) ... The module was reset with a Tech 2 and all has been fine since. Not sure if that's the techline or not - the bloke working on my car had never seen the issue before.
Ok I will keep this in mind, its going into the dealer on Thursday so i will let you know an outcome when I get one.
The dealer couldnt see any error codes, and as it is intermittend they couldnt reproduce the problem. Working fine at the moment but no real answer to the problem.
With mine, it didn't throw any codes - but the bloke could tell from plugging the tech2 that the HVAC unit wasn't communicating with whatever it was meant to be communicating with. He reset it and it's been fine since - though I did need to monitor it for a while incase thhe HVAC module needed to be replaced.
