Question I have found my phone to be still paired with my car

    Hello to all.

I have recently acquired a new SV6. Its great. until.

I need to know if anyone has had a flat battery and what if any was the cause.
Why i ask recently mine went dead flat.
Now on 3 occasions now i have found that my phone is still paired with the car which is parked in the garage. The latest incident was Sunday morning. I garaged car at 4pm Saturday evening. I checked my phone for messages at 11pm as i hadnt heard it go off for sometime and found that the phone was still paired in with the car. Now i didnt think anymore of it until. i hopped into the car found it had been depleted of power on Sunday.
Now the system did shutdown when i pulled the key an open the door and locked as you do .
Is it possible that the bluetooth system or something to do with this IQ system is still running?? It has not occured since as i disconnect bluetooth operation.

cheers thanks for reading curious if anyone else has any issues similair.

You car will disconnect when the ignition is off and doors locked.

Check for validity by doing as you have done and see if you can make a call. If you hear nothing from your phone then it is still connected somehow. You may just have to disconnect the bluetooth which will become a PITA having to pair / unpair all the time

I have experience with flat battery on Territory and Mondeo which may be applicable here. My brother also had this with a BMW.
If you turn motor off and exit car and lock with remote, it takes 15 to 35 minutes for car electrics to fully shut down to minimal battery usage state.
If you do not lock with remote, it takes far longer to shut down, and never goes to minimal battery usage state and continues to function.
If you open a door, the whole process starts over again. You can often hear the car doing something well after you exit.

After getting into the habit of locking our cars, have had no flat batteries.

The Mondeo could re connect Bluetooth when phone came back into range, or stay connected if range not exceeded.

The best fix I found here is that we no longer own the Territory or Mondeo. But seriously, what time frame does the VE take to shut down?

The VE takes about an hour to shut down with accessories on. The whole thing can be setup (through the menu) to do what you want with ignition / accessories / door open / door closed etc. Take a look at the menu and see what state it is in.

    I have recently acquired a new SV6.
    How recent is recent?

Because if you only picked it up a few weeks ago and havent gone very many long drives, chances are the battery isn't charged.
And I'm not talking 1/2 hour down the road, I'm talking a few hours on a hwy or something.

Just turn the bluetooth off on your phone or unpair it from the menu (car/phone)
