Default Driving in auto in triptronic mode

I had a drive around town today in triptronic mode and have to say its a lot of fun.

You dont even have to go over the speed limit to enjoy being able to rev the silky 6 litre out a bit more and have some nice control of the car with engine braking.

I am sure others know how good this is (although I have a mate that has had an sv6 for 2 years and has never taken it out of out
    of auto mode)..

My question is: Do these Ve gearboxes handle this ok .. if they are not thrashed..and..any recommendations on keeping the box in good order???

    Thanks.

The only time I use it is going to the coast down the windy mountains. Also when going back up cos it's a ball of fun!

I use nothing but this mode around town and have done so since I bought the car new. Admittedly it is a V6 but I have also had the torque control mechanism reduced through tuning of the TCM. The 6l50 box seems to be sweet so far and I love driving the car this way.

I can't remember the last time I actually drove my car in auto, the tiptronic is too much fun,as for if it harms the gearbox I wouldn't know but if you get your car serviced regulary it should be right.

Basically keeping the fluid clean keeps the box happy. Unfortunately most VE boxes no longer have dipsticks so changing more regularly that the service book says is the best bet if you like a lot of spirited driving..
