Hey,
I was in the process of installing new splits over the last few days and now i have gone to turn the ignition and there is nothing at all!
Now i havent touched or cut any existing wiring in the car, all i have done is - Disconnect and remove center speaker, remove tweeters, remove speakers. The new splits installed are not wired to the old wiring, all i have done is run new wiring to behind the passanger seat where the amp will be installed. The only other thing i have done besides this is unscrew the Positive nut on the battery and connect the power wire for the amp (which goes to a fuse about 4 inches from the ring terminal), this positive wire only goes into the fuse holder so it has no shorted out.
It is possible it could be a flat battery as i did have the key in the ignition over night (accessories werent on though) and have had the interior light on for a few hours while working in the car over the past few days and maybe the radio for half an hour.
I'm hoping i have not split into wire when running my new wiring however it would be unlikely.
Is there a main fuse somewhere that would be the best place to look first or should i start pulling out the hundred fuses to see if theres a blown one.
PS. I dont have a volt meter on me to test the battery, i do have a CTEK battery charger but im not sure if a dead battery is the main cause![]()
*Ignore Post*
Just hooked up the CTEK to it and the interior light came on straight away so it was a flat battery. Phew!
If the battery voltage has dropped too low then it wont start. First and easiest step is put it on charge overnight. And go from there.

Battery tested up all ok - just flat.
If you had the key in the ignition and was using the accessories at the time, then turned it off but didn't remove the key the cars system will not go to sleep, causing it to stay active thus draining the battery. Very common issue at some holden service centres when the VE first came out.
The boot light should not say on continously with the lid up, the system should turn it off after a period of time (well at least it does on my SSV)
Good o'l CTEK chargers they are worth their wait in gold. I have the 7000 and periodically (once every 2 months) give the battery a 24hr charge cycle.
Good you have it all sorted though.

Yes, good comments Hexem. Didn't think of all that!
Thanks mate, your right i had the accessories on then just turned the key to turn them off and left the key in the ignition over night, however the interior lights werent on nor was the IQ Screen etc. but as you said the system was probably still running.
I'm pretty sure my hardlid light stays on as i have left the hardlid open once overnight and im pretty sure it stayed on (from what i can remember) but its not like i'd leave it open anyway.
