Default Auctions - How much are VEs going for?

    G'day,
Looking at buying a family car (VE wagon) from auction, due my limited work time off - I need to ask to give me an idea before I take a day off to go to the auctions, what are the prices are they going for at the moment at the auctions for mid range Commodores, nothing special. Not early models, say late 2008-early 2010 models please.
    Thanks guys
    Cheers

Ring up the Auction places in your area. I regularly get a book sent to me for just a small fee. It lists the Prices People Pay for the last 3 months of sales. Manheim Fowles and Pickles are the main Auctioneers that I have sourced booklets from in the past.

I've bought my last three Commodores (VX, VZ, & VE) at Pickles Auctions , and am very happy with the way they do business.

The way they run them where I am, on the inspection day, they post a list on the wall, of the previous auction, and prices realized.

In my experience, the dealers never pay above RedBook, and if a car goes for much more than that, it's because two private buyers are slugging it out.
Also, the dealers have a limit on how much they can spend, and when their money's gone, they walk out. So cars well down the list, will go for less than similar cars earlier in the day, because less dealers, or no dealers, are bidding. Luckily I only wanted a basic Commodore, and there were plenty. So I checked them all out, and was ready to bid, but the early ones went for too much. But, I got something in the end.

You can watch, and bid, on Pickles on-line. It's an interesting exercise.

When you inspect the cars, look at wheels, towbars, rego, and extras: dealers always make an allowance.

I bought my 2010 VE Omega 3.0L SIDI with 69,000 on the odo in December 2010: $17,750.
