    Default opg v redback

    Hi guys,
I was looking for a set of rear mufflers,
at them moment im looking at the OPG and redback ones both similar in prices..around 500.
I have listened to some videos of the OPG mufflers and seem convinced with these, does anyone have an opinions on which would give me a louder note? I cant seem to find many videos of redback rears .. cheers

If you want loud, redback probably arent for you. To me redback have a beautiful exhaust note, but its deeper and quieter than some other brands (I dont like loud droney exhausts). Pacemaker will give you loud, but to me they are too tinny/raspy. Havent heard an OPG in real life though.... and my suggestion would be to try and hear an exhaust in person before forking out around $500 for mufflers.

Asking others whether they like one over the other wont help you in your choice, because exhaust note is personal preference. Some people like loud bazooka canon mufflers the best, some like F1 high pitches, and some like deep low gurgly and quiet.

I haven't heard Redback mufflers on the VE, but the cars I've heard them on have sounded very nice.
I had OPG mufflers on my car at one stage, VERY loud and they do drone.

I like the exhaust in the video... Is that JUST the Redback Mufflers? And how much did they set you back?
Edit: Nevermind, just read the YouTube description.
What kind of difference would it be with just the mufflers and not the rest of the work?

I've got just the Redback mufflers on my SV6 and it sounds pretty similar I believe.

From the little bit I've heard with someone else driving my car it sounds great, a lot better than that typical "typical shitty V6 commodore with an exhaust" sound.

They do drone a bit, mostly when going up hills etc. Normal driving is pretty good considering. You wont get anything that doesnt drone on the V6's.

I'd definitely recommend them. I've also only heard positive things about them, heard a lot of bad things about OPG.

Awesome. That makes my mind up on them. And how much did you pay for your redbacks?

OPG burble off throttle, n are deeper. More for the "teen , loud look at me" I have them n I'm happy, how ever, they give a much tougher idle then any other after market muffler which is awesome!!

Don't suppose you could upload a sound/video clip? I'm really curious about them is all.

Awesome, I've seen that clip before and that's the exhaust I wanted. Just wasn't sure exactly which one it was.
Where are these available as I don't see anything advertised as OPG on eBay? Will I need to speak to a Muffler Shop for these ones? And what will they sting me with?

Cant remember exaclty but I think they set me back about 450. You could pick them up cheaper now though, try ebay. Probs around $300.

I'm just gonna say that's only showing that it sounds good while the car isn't going anywhere. Add in loads on the car when moving etc and there'll be a lot of drone. I'm only going off what I've been told and seen on the net, a lot of people who tried them hated them and I'm yet to see anyone say anything bad about the Redbacks. But of course drone is a subjective thing.

If you havent tried them why are you giving them negative feedback and then Also saying drone is a subjective thing... Unless u own or have previously owned them and are then willing to voice your opinion its not needed and is basically useless information IMO.

I have them fitted. Think they are great, droned a bit at the start. Then got quitter as they carboned up a bit. Look at "ve mufflers" and they are $499 free delivery, the sellers name is "original parts group"

Passing on ur research is great, but misleading if it's read from someone who prefers cannons or a 1.5" excel exhaust....

/agreed. To give advice or opinions the person must be completely unbiased. Just like I couldn't give advice on Fords... Because I'm one hell of a Holden fanboi

One other thing you may want to consider is the quality of the tips as some appear to be be better than others.

Ive got the redback mufflers. They have a nice deep note, not raspy or tinny like some other brands out. Havn't heard the opg is person so cant say which sounds better.
