    Default Iq Woes

    Hi all,

Not seent this before on the forums, but thought I'd ask as my Dealer doesn't seem to worried (despite me showing a video of the fault) and states that they cant do anything until they see what the fault is (when it happens).

I have a MY11 SV6, with Nav / reverse camera. Sometimes, whilst driving I press the 'trip' button and it launches the Nav. the 'Audio' button functions as the 'Trip' button and the phone button does nothing.

Anyone had this problem? Its not a safety issue, but it annoys the bejesus out of me when it happens.

    Cheers

Not seen this before either. Get your dealer to re-load the software as a starting point - most likely is corrupt.... Windows...

If he won't do it, then find another dealer...

Both our IQ systems on the 2011 SV6, 2010 SSV have a melt down every now and then. Sometimes the phone hands free will work with the radio on over the top (SSV). Or it has "HAD" the prob mentioned above. I have found the best way to fix it is you have to turn the car off remove the key and close the door. Leave it about 2 min then turn it back on. I have noticed that the SSV does not like it when you start it and put it into gear before all the checks are done on the dash and IQ screen, e.g in gear before the Holden logo goes and radio come's up. Since I have been letting it do its thing (while I listen to the engine knock) the camera and Nav have been fine.

When the phone plays up (SV6) I have to delete the paired device's "all of them" and reinstall. Its like rebooting you PC.

cant say i have had OP problems, the only occasional issue i get if i reverse before the system check the camera does not work and if im playing the ipod at the time the screen will keep saying "reading ipod" until i press and audio button. And does anyone know if the iq system can accomadate a shuffle option of all the songs.

    Dealer's response:

Yes you've shown me the video of it happening, but I can't do anything until we get a chance to fault it when its happening.

I'm already getting to the stage that everytime I've even called with an issue like the ABS self test being too loud / hard as 'normal' even though it does it whilst stopped at the lights etc or with the IQ (this is the second time ive mentioned the fault) all I get is 'my hands are tied' or 'when the holden rep is next in town, come and show him' leads to believe that he doesnt give two hoots about my business.

REally off putting and seriously, next lease car, I will not be going through them.

as you in canberra, your probably limited to small amount of dealers, have you tried another?, it maybe just a simple solution is a software reinstall-which i think takes a couple of hours by itself

How do you expect them to diagnose a problem if it doesnt fault for them? Intermittent faults are the worst to try and fix because 9 times out of 10 they dont fault when you want them to. They cant spend a lot of time on it because the time is not reimbursed to the dealer by Holden if no fault is found.

I have been tempted to try it.

Agree, but they told me to video it so they could ask Holden, but even that didn't help.

Best thing was: picked up the car after being talked to by the service guy and hopped in the car, drove 500m away and the fault started happening. Rang the guy up, his comment was: All the tech's go home after 4, so you'll need to come between 8-4pm to show them... great, an intermittant fault and I have to arrange so that it happens within hours... great!
