ve ss thud noise when selecting 1st and changing to second

hi all, i recently bought my self an 07 ve ss v manual and recently noticed when i put it in 1st from being stoped it makes a thud noise and also when i change from 1st to 2nd, and you can feel it going into gear? but if i give it and change from 1st to 2nd i cant notice it? any ideas?

Sounds Like diff backlash to me

so even at a complete stop and selecting first yoy can get backlash from thd diff? Can this be adjusted?

Yeah it can be adjusted . Yes it can still happen when your stopped and going into first it's the car taking up the slack in the driveline. Best to get it checked out by your mechanic though

Had a similar issue - was diff backlash. Adjusted under warranty - it's better but not 100%.

^^ Happens in varying degrees. Can get quite violent.

Mine was mainly when cold and would thump into 1st. Took it back to the dealer and they replaced the whole trannie under warranty.
